It is the way the product recommendations are created. This is what makes 8SELECT unique.
The basis for our product recommendations of consistently high quality is the expert knowledge they contain. Experts can be, for example, your specialist salespeople, influencers, content managers or category managers. At 8SELECT, experts create content for fashion, sports and outdoor.
Human expertise is essential for a high-quality product set, especially in a product range where the combination with other items is less characterised by personal taste and a stylistic signature (e.g. fashion), but where the right product combination determines the correct functioning (e.g. DIY, tools, electronics).
The basis for creating scalable product sets is the product data feed of your online shop and the properties it contains. With NLP-supported text mining and AI-based image processing, we enrich this information with additional attributes as part of your onboarding. Additionally, we normalize all data in this step.
When creating product sets, we therefore always use the highest available data quality. Because it makes a difference whether you are simply offered a sweater or whether your salesperson pays attention to materials, cut and the style matching the outfit when recommending it.
During content creation, the product sets are tagged (keywords that you can assign freely) and each product set contains a unique set ID. With the help of the tags, you can, for example, create a theme page in your online shop in no time at all that lists several product sets matching the desired keyword: e.g. "Hip outfits for city trips". Using the Set ID as a trigger, you can play a desired set at any point in the customer journey, e.g. "Look of the week" in an e-mail and on a landing page.

Many online shops use our Human Experience Platform in addition to their existing recommendation engines to offer their customers the best shopping experience: With 8SELECT you underline your personality as retailer by making recommendations that your customer can rely on just like in a specialist shop. Classic recommendation engines, which recommend products based more on statistical data, appeal to customers who are more oriented towards other customers. Since your customers have different characteristics and this can even change from visit to visit, both methods are justified.
8SELECT product recommendations are based on the personal expertise of people (e. g. yourself, your team, product experts, shop assistants, influencers) and are therefore of particularly high quality.
The 8.HX Platform enables human product knowledge, which is captured by rules in the system, to be presented in the shop in a time- and resource-saving way by means of product set recommendations. The 8SELECT product recommendations are therefore based on human expertise and not algorithm.
As the 8.HX platform only displays product recommendations that you have defined by rules and an ongoing inventory and price comparison is made, you and your team always have full control over the quality of your product recommendations. You can always track the performance of your recommendations and product sets in the integrated dashboard.
There are two ways to integrate 8.HX into your online shop.
We offer plugins or extension modules (cartridge) for standard shop systems. You can easily download the plugin and integrate it into your online shop.

8.HX can be easily adapted to the CI and look & feel of your online shop in the Management Console. There is a configuration module in the settings where you can select various options or insert your own CSS. Thanks to the live preview (including preview mode for different end devices), you can test various adjustments before going live.
The unique aspect of 8.HX is that the product recommendations are defined by people, but are still scalable. This reduces the manual effort enormously while still providing personal recommendations. By using attributes, you can cover a freely selectable range of products by creating just one recommendation without having to define new product recommendations.
Our customer, Bavaria's leading traditional costume outfitter MOSER Trachten invests only 30 minutes of time each week and, with 8.HX, permanently includes almost the entire range of articles in product sets. Basically, you can seamlessly integrate all client-side functions of 8.HX into all shop systems (including in-house developments) using manual integration.
8select is technology partner of Salesforce, SAP, Shopware and OXID, among others, and already offers extensions (e.g. cartridges, plugins) for some standard systems, by means of which 8SELECT can be implemented very easily and quickly.
